HDFC Bank NetSafe Card Review

For most of us who are very hesitant or afraid to use our credit card for online shopping or online usage, HDFC Bank has the perfect solution in name of HDFC NetSafe Card with which you can create 100s of new cards which can be used for online transactions and once created that particular card will become invalid or cannot be used again until the set limit is exhausted.  This netsafe card can be created either from your HDFC Bank Debit Card or Credit Card.  The NetSafe Card from HDFC is also protected and verified by the Visa/MasterCard SecureCode and hence you get double protection.

 

How to Create

With the HDFC Bank VCC or virtual credit card, you can create a login ID and password and login to your account with your existing HDFC Bank Debit Card or Credit Card number and once created a login and password and just login to your account and create a new Net Safe Card by giving the limit of amount that you want your Netsafe Card to be loaded and once done you will be offered a brand new card with the mentioned amount limit, a new card number, expiry date and a new Net Safe number which will be available for one or two days at the max for usage.

 

Now you can use those card details like the 16 digit card number, expiry date and Card Verification Value Code (CVV) at the desired online shopping or online portals just like a regular credit card or debit card and that particular amount will be debited from your card account directly.  All these numbers and dates are only temporary and hence cannot be used again later by anyone.

 

Amount to Use

You should create a card with the exact or around the amount that you are planning to use at the particular online shopping portal so that it can only be used once and cannot be misused by anyone else even if they hack into your details when making payment or from the online shopping website itself.  You can specify any amount on a single card, either it s Rs. 10 or even Rs. 50,000 depending upon your credit limit
